I am an Associate Professor of Communication in the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and a Senior Researcher at SU’s Institute for Democracy, Journalism and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. I specialize in political communication and political psychology, and my research focuses on incivility in the media, its interaction with individual psychological traits, and its influence on political behavior. I’m also interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning, particularly assessment and community-engaged learning.
